So when my wife said we were going again this past weekend, I was elated. The experience was fantastic and I raved about it on our 'foodies' Facebook page. My wife, our friend and myself went to MC about a month or two ago.

It was "Churro Night" so we had a free order of churros (spent $50). I always get chiles rellenos (they call them chiles poblanos here - their chiles rellenos are meat-filled) and they were very good.my husband had the enchiladas supreme (4 different types) and there wasn't a crumb left on his plate. Seems it's a typical Americanized joint but with somewhat authentic food. I am pretty fussy about mexican food.I don't want On the Border corporate inedibility, and I also don't want the Chipotle-style black bean and brown rice healthy alternative. nada (well, there was the one we were looking for which friends had eaten at the night before, but upon seeing it, we decided against it - it was basically attached to motels and there wasn't even parking except for motel guests, which our friends had been). Believe me, we started in Clifton Park and all the way down Route 9 and through Loudonville we found a dearth of them. We were driving around the area looking for a Mexican restaurant and finding - not much.

I have posted pictures of our visit last night. If this establishment is still open after it’s year in October, then I will be shocked. This had to fit in as one of the “ 10 all time worse” dining experiences and meals that I have ever had. I am a seasoned traveler, a mature older woman, and have eaten in many restaurants and countries. Nothing was “comped”, not even a discount, just the offer of another free drink.

In the end, the full amount of the bill was given to us. The waiter kept saying that he “ would make it right”. There were a few beans in the “ bean slop”, the rice was cold and tasteless. No way, the meal was cold, looked like the kitchen had taken a soft taco shell and threw a piece of cold American cheese in it and folded it in half. “ We should come back and let him cook us a meal”. He stated that the poor quality of food was the kitchen’s fault and that he would never serve a meal like we were served. Since we did not want another drink, he had nothing else to offer except that he told us that he moved to serving. After we asked our waiter to speak to the manager, he told us that he was the manager that evening and offered to buy us another drink. The order was incorrect, she was served some made up concoction of a Mexican Poblano Pepper that was put into a hard bell pepper and passes off as a Poblano. By then my guest has attempted to wait and eat what was a lukewarm thrown together dinner. When we called the waiter over, he removed my plate and did not return with it for a full 15 minutes. My dinner was stone cold and served on a cold plate to enhance the chilling of the meal. When one dinner came out incorrect, it was corrected with a cold entree that was thrown on a small plate and hastily served as a replacement. Outside looked like a few bar tables already served. Cold food, wrong order for my dining companion, service was slow even though there were less than 6 tables inside on a Saturday night dining. OMG This had to be one of the ten worst dinner events that I have had in all of my adult of travels.
